Infrastructure​

Infrastructural assets form the backbone of the country and so looking after them is vitally important – especially given the current shortage of public funds for new infrastructural investment. We provide services that are essential for maintaining these assets to make sure they continue to serve their important role while also keeping their appearance up to a suitable standard. We fully appreciate that customer demands can vary hugely from project to project and have the resources and flexibility to offer exactly what is required, no matter how large or small the project. Having been involved in numerous large-scale infrastructural contracts throughout our history, we have set the benchmark in terms of adapting to the changing demands of the sector. Our professional team is trained to meet the required industry standards in terms of health, safety and welfare.​​​​​

Highways

Keeping the UK road network clean and well maintained requires a very special matrix of skills and resources. Nordic Products and Services are a fully accredited provider of such services and its large team of experienced professionals works extensively throughout the UK’s road network. From country lanes to motorways and everything in between, our workforce can handle just about any challenge and, with our specialist equipment, can access hard-to-reach places.​​​

Deep Cleanse​

Using the latest in power cleaning technology, we are able to tackle surfaces of any scale and material to return them to their original state. Our portfolio of work in this area includes murals, listed building exteriors, children’s play areas and sports facilities. Limescale removal is a common request from our clients and we can fast and effectively transform blemishes and stains into clean brickwork. We are also fully qualified to handle traffic management requirements, height access and all health and safety demands.​​​​

Painting

While we are perhaps best known for our cleaning services, we also provide maintenance and industrial coatings to suit a range of projects. Our epoxy resin clear sealer is used nationwide to produce slip-free, durable floor surfaces in pedestrianised areas, shopping centres, workplaces and a multitude of other publicly-used walkways. We also supply coatings to be used on steps in sports stadia, on footbridges and in other circumstances in which slip resistance is essential.​​​​

Bridge Refurbishment​

Our team of professionally trained and accredited staff offers all aspects of skills needed in refurbishing bridges for local authorities and the Government. Our stringent training and staff development ensures we manage all key aspects of bridge projects – such as height access issues, traffic management and health and safety in terms of our own people and those affected by our work.​

Bus Shelter Refurbishment​

Nordic provides essential care and maintenance of public transport assets and has an excellent track record for making sure bus journeys are a clean and pleasant experience for passengers. A well-maintained bus shelter plays an important role in ensuring the buses are a desirable mode of transport, especially when public transport has been outlined as central to the UK cutting its carbon emissions.​​

Subways

Graffiti, dirt and poorly maintained walkways and walls can make subways an intimidating and unpleasant place for pedestrians. At Nordic we work extensively to return subways to being the safe and clean infrastructural assets they were intended to be.​​​

Height work​

At Nordic we offer height work as part of our services to assist in the removal of high level graffiti. Our professional team is fully qualified in working at height using mechanical lifting equipment, cherry pickers and scissor lifts.

Having completed the IPAF (International Powered Access Federation) Training programme, we are now fully trained in all four areas:

• Mobile vertical

• Mobile boom

• Static boom

This qualification enables us to undertake high level removal jobs, with work for Vodafone and Animal stores in Broadmead (Bristol) among our recent contracts in this field.

We aim to work around any needs you may have, such as operating during closing hours, to provide minimum disruption to both your business and the public. We also comply with the Work at Height Regulations and can carry out any work on red routes or busy areas by working through the night.​

Waterways​

Working in partnership with the Canal and River Trust (formerly British Waterways), we are heavily involved in maintaining the country’s network of waterways. We recently trained 19 members of staff in NVQ Level 2 Cleaning and Support Services, using all of our graffiti removal and coating range. Our products were used by British Waterways as they meet the strictest environmental and health and safety standards.​​

Canal Work​

Within our waterways expertise, we specialise in working on canals and are able to undertake canal- side cleaning and specialist cleaning for housing areas. Our stringent training and staff development ensures we manage all key aspects of bridge projects – such as height access issues, traffic management and health and safety in terms of our own people and those affected by our work.​

Utility Boxes​

For over a decade, Nordic has worked with technology firm Virgin Media to provide a specialist service to restore Virgin Media cabinets to their former glory. The work has involved us having to hand-clean, prime, apply a coat of paint and then apply an anti-graffiti coating over the top to each cabinet. This carries a five-year guarantee and prevents graffiti and flyposting adhering to the surface. Most graffiti will simply wash away in the rain and the final 10 per cent can be removed by a wipe or with warm soapy water. In 2010, we worked with many local authorities including: Preston City Council, St Helens, Renfrewshire and Cheshire West and Chester, cleaning and coating over 1,500 cabinets.
